About the GCSE
A Grand Exposition of Canadian Steampunk grandeur, a festival of epic proportions, sights, sounds, and experiences to entertain and delight… all this and more!
We welcome you to the Fourth Annual GCSE. We’ll time travel to the world of a real, honest to goodness 19th century Fort, where delights and pleasures abound – along with a multitude of surprises and experiences that you simply haven’t encountered anywhere before. What happens when you let a very large gaggle of Steampunks loose in a very large Fort full or soldiers, muskets, cannons, and so forth? The mind boggles.
This year, we are delighted to celebrate The Birth of Flight, as inspired by the wonderful (and wonderfully silly) old movie, “Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines”! It comes from an era that bridges Steampunk and Dieselpunk — and is one of those rare and wonderful flights of fancy that was Steampunk in so many ways long before anyone even coined the term. Steampunk before Steampunk was Steampunk? Yes indeed.
Magnificent performers, inspiring panels and workshops, incomparable photo ops, fabulous installations, fantastic vendors – all of this and so very much more awaits you at Fort George National Historic Site in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Canada.
We’d just love it if you’d join us.
